Ex-Everton, Man Utd winger Blomqvist delighted for Moyes

Former Everton and Manchester United winger Jesper Blomqvist is delighted for David Moyes over his Old Trafford move.

Moyes decided not to renew Blomqvist's contract at the end of the 2001-02 season after just 18 matches in a blue shirt.

"It wasn't a long period under David Moyes," Blomqvist told the Manchester Evening News. "But the one thing that struck me straight away about him was that he was very clear in his mind what he wanted to do, what he wanted every player to do and how he wanted Everton to play.

"That was very obvious from the first two or three training sessions. He made it very plain how he wanted us to play.

"He showed every single player where he wanted them to play on the pitch and how to go about it.

"It was so very clear in his mind. There were no blurred lines. You knew exactly what he wanted. I can just remember that being very impressive about him. I am sure he will go in to United and do the same. I didn't stay long with him and I didn't agree about everything. But there were no hard feelings and I did really like him as a coach and a person.

"Even though he let me go pretty quickly I had a lot of respect for him as a coach and I felt immediately that he had a chance of doing well."
