Ex-Everton forward McFadden to play some part as Motherwell prepare for Celtic

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has admitted that James McFadden is not quite ready to start following his return to the club.

The former Everton, Birmingham City and Sunderland forward is back at Fir Park but after making two substitute appearances against Dundee United and Ross County will not start when the Well meet league leaders Celtic on the weekend.

"We will see as regards James," said McCall.

"He's no better in training now than he was three weeks ago. He hasn't been ready to start.

"We've had to drip feed him into it.

"We haven't decided on a team yet but he will play a part."
