Former Everton defender Dave Watson has taken charge of Newcastle United U18s.

Watson enjoyed a winning debut over Derby County.

"I really enjoyed it," Watson told nufc.co.uk. "I thought the team played excellent in the first-half and we scored some fantastic goals. Our movement, our passing; it was all going right for us.

"We scored four goals and we could have scored another four goals so everything was going great up until half-time."
