Former England youth international Cherno Samba has been handed trials by Portsmouth.
The Daily Mail says the Gambian international, 24, has been without a club following his released by Finnish side FC Haka in February.
The striker came through the system at Millwall was once sought after by champions Manchester United and Liverpool during his days at The Den but has failed to justify his hype ever since.
Samba, however, will look to put paid to the past and secure a dream move to the Barclays Premier League basement club if he can convince the Fratton Park management to award him a short-term deal after a successful trial.
