Taylor wrote in the Daily Express: "have been a lot of suggestions ahead of tomorrow's game with Italy that England need to thank Fabio Capello for how they have done at Euro 2012.
"There seems to be a marked reluctance in certain quarters to give Roy any credit for what he has achieved out here.
"There is a huge difference in the attitude and outlook of players now compared to the feeling that emanated from the camp in South Africa in the last World Cup. That is not down to Capello.
"That is down to Roy and the fact he has the experience of having been an international manager before with Switzerland and Finland. He knows when to release the handbrake in training and give the players a bit of downtime and he knows how to interpret the flow tournament football brings."
