FC Twente have appointed Steve McClaren for a second stint as manager.

The Dutch club sacked Co Adriaanse earlier this week and have quickly replaced him with McClaren, who guided the club to the 2009/10 Eredivise title.

McClaren departed for German club Wolfsburg after that triumph but did not see out the 2010/11 season before taking the reins at Nottingham Forest in the summer before he resigned after just 10 league games.

McClaren, who managed England in 2006 and 2007 after spending time as boss at Middlesbrough, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the De Grolsch Veste.
