John Harkes is set to become the head coach of North American Soccer League club Virginia Cavalry.
According to the Washington Post, the former Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and DC United midfielder could reach an agreement with the second division expansion outfit in the next few weeks.
"We have had chances to sit down and talk," said Harkes. "It's something that could be very exciting. We hope to know more soon."
The Virginia Cavalry was founded in 2012 and will begin playing in spring 2014, pending approval of a temporary home stadium.
