Former Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence believes his old club can 'easily' avoid relegation in 2014/15.
The Eagles produced a stellar end to the last campaign under Tony Pulis to eventually finish 11th on the table and although that is something that may not be as attainable this term, Lawrence is expecting to be well above the bottom three come seasons' end.
Lawrence told talkSPORT's Kick Off that Pulis would still be looking to make some further signings in the summer transfer window but suggests the squad is solid enough to be competitive.
"I still think they could do with another centre forward and maybe another centre midfielder as well. Whether that happens, who knows," said Lawrence.
"I'm sure Tony Pulis isn't massively happy with the fact he's only brought in three signings this transfer window, I'm sure he wants others. But he did so well with the squad he had, I'm sure he's not that bothered and I think Palace will have a very good season.
"I'm not saying they're going to finish top 10 or anything like that but I think they will avoid relegation relatively easily.
"Tony Pulis proves season after season he knows the Premier League very well and he can manage a squad and a team that's relatively limited technically wise."
So far this summer, Palace have signed striker Fraizer Campbell from Cardiff City, young goalkeeper Chris Kettings from Blackpool and experienced defender Brede Hangeland from Fulham.
