Former Cuba international Renier Alcantara is chasing an MLS contract. Alcantara, who left the Cuban national team in Washington, D.C., two months ago, is temporarily living in Southern California, waiting for his work papers.

He has had trials with the Kansas City Wizards, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes. A few USL teams have also expressed interest.
