Ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan: They're in real trouble

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan believes his old club is in real relegation trouble.

Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, Jordan doesn't think Sam Allardyce has the tools this time to keep Palace up, compared to what he's done in the past.

"Pay £14m for Patrick van Aanholt and £11m on the lad from Olympiacos to replace Mile Jedinak in the middle of the park?," he questioned.

"He (Sam) has had £30m or £40m during the transfer window. I don't think he spent that much at Sunderland last season.

"Sam is in a different state of mind. There are two commodities in football that are really rife – gossip and money – and the gossip tells me that he is not at.

"I don't think he is, not because he doesn't want to be, because I just think he is not the same Sam.

"Palace are in really deep trouble now with 13 games to go. The top six are among that and I don't think they are going to get points from any of the top six.

"They are in real trouble."
