Former Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is being linked with Rangers.
The Daily Mail says there has been tentative contact between the 56-year-old's representatives and Rangers since Pedro Caixinha's sacking last week.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes remains first choice for the job despite a potential compensation bill of more than £1million.
Pardew was sacked by Palace in December and has been working as a Sky pundit.
He rejected an offer from Dynamo Kiev last week.
