Ex-Crystal Palace boss Allardyce confirms retirement

Sam Allardyce has confirmed he's retired from football after quitting Crystal Palace.

In an interview with Richard Keys for beIN Sports, he confirmed that he had both retired and resigned to spend more time with his family.

"It has been a good end to the season, but the time spent and the length of time I have managed, it is the right time for me to spend time with the family, with the grandchildren," he said.

"There will be withdrawal symptoms, but for us all, we have to enjoy life.

"It is the right time to move on and enjoy the rest of life outside of football."
