Ex-Colorado Rapids coach Smith takes Stevenage job and seeks immediate Arsenal talks

Gary Smith is set to take charge of Stevenage Borough.

The Daily Mail says Smith is set to be named as the new Stevenage manager and will immediately raid former club Arsenal for their brightest young talent.

The former Gunners scout, 43, replaces Graham Westley, who left the League One club to join Preston this month.

Smith managed MLS side Colorado Rapids between 2008 and 2011 and will use his Arsenal contacts to take their best academy players on loan.
