Ex-Chelsea striker Bobby Devyne inspired by Arsenal legend Henry support

Former Chelsea striker Bobby Devyne is ready to enter pro football.

He has spent a year contemplating his next move and has had trials at a number of clubs, as well as spending the summer training with Thierry Henry at New York Red Bulls.

Arsenal legend Henry gave the youngster words of encouragement and told him not to give up on his dream of making it to the top.

"I went to New York over the summer to stay fit," Devyne told the Fulham Chronicle.

"I spoke to Henry and he told me to stay in Europe and keep trying. He was my idol growing up and when he'd watched me train he told me I had the quality to play for a good club - that was something very special coming from someone like him.

"He is one of the reasons I started playing so for him to sing my praises was one of my greatest moments."
