Former Chelsea star Gary Chivers wants Terry Venables added to the England backroom team.
Chivers wrote in the Daily Star Sunday: "My choice to have replaced Fabio Capello as England's manager would have been Terry Venables.
"He is, by far, the best of over 30 bosses I played under.
"It's not, in my opinion, still too late to add him to Roy Hodgson's backroom staff and his knowledge would benefit everyone.
"Although he's 69, Terry still showed he has the appetite for the game by helping out Wembley FC in the FA Cup this season.
"To me, it's one of the great mysteries why he isn't involved in the game at a higher level today. It's a huge waste of one of football's great brains and innovators."
