Portland Timbers coach John Spencer still has some of the ability that saw him play for clubs such as Chelsea, Rangers, QPR, Everton and Motherwell.
The 41-year old joined in training with his Timbers players on Monday and received some positive reviews from his Timbers players.
Both Mike Chabala and Troy Perkins admit Spencer has got the skills but these days maybe lacks a little bit of fitness.
"If you watch (our) training, he still as competitive as probably anybody on the field," Chabala said. "He motivates guys. He still pushes it and keeps up with the play. It's fun to actually get to go up against him. Put your arm in him."
And goalkeeper Perkins added: "Sometimes he gets pretty winded pretty quickly. If he's on your team defensively, you're stuck. But he can still play."
