John Spencer says he does not at all fear the possibility of being sacked by Portland Timbers.

The Scotsman currently has the Timbers sitting second bottom on the MLS Western Conference table with some calls being made for his head but the former Chelsea, QPR and Colorado Rapids striker insists the decision is out of his hands.

"I can't control what the powers that be do," Spencer said in the wake of the weekend’s 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders. "I don't worry about what I can't control.

"It's amazing what a win gives you, because three days ago, I was getting asked, 'Do you think you're going to get fired?'

“Now you've got a win and a couple of games in hand and now you're back in the (playoff) mix. It's amazing how people's mentalities change."
