Former Chelsea and Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon has joined Atletico Madrid.
AS says Kenyon has joined an advisor, with a remit to expand the club's international presence, as the club seeks to grow economically as well as on the pitch.
Atleti are looking to build on the sporting success that has Simeone has brought them (Europa League winners in 2012, Copa del Rey winners in 2013 and Liga winners and Champions League runners-up last year) with an economic expansion that will provide them with a financial base to ensure continuing success on the pitch.
