Ex-Chelsea defender: Liverpool are PRETENDERS and Kopites can't handle it!

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has enjoyed winding up Liverpool fans after last night's Capital One Cup semifinal win. Cundy has branded Kopites 'pretenders' and declared Liverpool 'cannot touch us'.

He told talkSPORT: "Over the last ten years Liverpool and Chelsea have played each other more than any other sides in English football, and over that time there has been a build-up of hostility and hatred.

"Why I think this is, is that Liverpool used to be a big team. They used to have big players and they used to keep hold of them, they made big signings and they used to win titles.

"But they're no longer that big side and that's a problem for Liverpool fans. Chelsea have overtaken Liverpool and they don't like it, they can't stand it.

"I remember the 70's, 80's and early 90's when they were the dominant side, but that's gone now.

"We're chasing a Premier League title, whereas they pretended to last season. They were in the Champions League this season for how long? Ten minutes!

"They hate the fact Chelsea have overtaken them, and the names they call us - plastic fans for example - we couldn't care less.

"They can't touch us."
