Ex-Chelsea defender Ake 'learning a lot' with Bournemouth

Nathan Ake says an increase in playing time at Bournemouth is helping him thrive.

The Dutchman spent the second half of last season pining on the bench for Chelsea before sold to the Cherries for £20m in the summer.

He has since started every Premier League for the south coast club and has played more senior fixtures than any other season in his career.

And the 23-year-old believes this consistency has helped his development.

"I think, personally, it has been okay. The start was a bit tough," said Ake about his season.

"I had to adapt a bit but I adjusted and it's going well and was exactly what I needed – to play a full season in the Premier League.

"So far it has been week in, week out and I think I have been learning a lot."
