Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has urged England fans to get behind new manager Roy Hodgson.
The FA surprised many by choosing the West Bromwich Albion boss ahead of Tottenham's Harry Redknapp.
Wilkins told The Sun: "It was almost as if Harry was going to walk into the job.
"I haven't spoken to Harry, I don't know what his feelings were about that, whether he wanted to take it or not.
"But he didn't get asked to do it, so I do feel for him.
"Let's give Roy a chance because we do love to England manager bash.
"Yes he did struggle at Liverpool. But if you look back at the results, they weren't that bad and I think that experience will help him immensely."
