Ex-Chelsea coach questions Billy Gilmour's Rangers exit

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has questioned Billy Gilmour's decision to leave Rangers for Stamford Bridge.

Teenage Gilmour has agreed to move to Chelsea this week.

However, former Gers star Wilkins has told the Daily Record: “The most important thing for a young man is to accrue as many games as he possibly can.

“And if Billy Gilmour is doing that at Rangers and performing then he'll be bought eventually.

“If Billy feels he's got more of a chance of playing at Rangers from a very early age then stay at Rangers because I can't stress enough that playing is paramount.

“You never get those days back. Take it from me. You've got to be of an exceptional talent to play

in the Chelsea first team. It's very difficult to break through at Stamford Bridge."
