Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri is delighted with the success of goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Cech signed for Chelsea in February 2004 although he didn't move from Rennes to London until the summer. The new arrival was to compete for place with Carlo Cudicini who had flourished under Ranieri.
"I bought Cech but I never coached him," Ranieri told chelseafc.com.
"When I saw him in his national Under 21 team, in my opinion he was one of the best young goalkeepers. He was very sure, very good in the air, very fast across the pitch. He was full of every quality.
"When I bought him I thought there are now two goalkeepers for Chelsea and that is very important. I asked Roman Abramovich for two players for every position."
