Ex-Chelsea boss Di Matteo, Platt in Brighton frame

Former Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo is being linked with Gus Poyet's job at Brighton.

Former Chelsea manager Di Matteo, 42, has been out of work since November when he was axed as the club headed out of the Champions League in the group stages.

Di Matteo watched Brighton's home defeat by Crystal Palace in the Championship play-offs this week, says the Daily Star Sunday.

Brighton chairman Tony Bloom suspended Poyet for alleged breaches of contract and did the same to his assistant Mauricio Taricco and coach Charlie Oatway.

David Platt, recently Roberto Mancini's assistant at Manchester City, and Brentford's Uwe Rosler are also contenders for Poyet's job.
