Ex-Chelsea, Barcelona star Gudjohnsen happy at Fulham

Fulham loanee Eidur Gudjohnsen says he is happy at the club after making just his second start for the Cottagers on Wednesday night.

The 32-year old Stoke City striker has had an unsettled few seasons with loan deals and injuries but is enjoying his time at Craven Cottage and hopes it lasts longer than just this season.

"It's great to be playing football again," he told the club's official website. "I feel like I'm half-resurrecting my career because it was fading away earlier in the season and I just feel alive again.

"I think over the course of the season I'm sure that everyone would get their fair share of games. It's all about the Team and the Squad because if I was to stay next season, we're going to need everyone fully fit.

"We saw earlier in the season that we were very unfortunate with injuries, with a lot of forwards being injured. We need everyone fit and healthy; competition only brings the best out of players anyway.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying myself, I think Fulham is a great club, it's a great setup. It surprised me how professionally everything is set up - I've got nothing but positive things to say and I'd be glad to stay if things were right for both parties."
