Ex-Charlton, Leeds winger Sam joins NYRB

New York Red Bull have announced the signing of English winger Lloyd Sam.

The 27-year old former Charlton Athletic and Leeds United man has signed a deal with the Red Bulls and will be available to play once he receives his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 visa.

"Lloyd has impressed our coaching staff during his trial in New York and we are pleased to sign him," said Red Bulls General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "He is someone who has good speed and can play a number of roles in our squad."

Sam kicked of his career with Charlton in 2003 and during his time at The Valley had loan spells with Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday and Southend United prior to his 2010 shift to Leeds, where he had a loan with Notts County last season.
