Former Celtic winger Bobby Petta believes the club are in a good position to sell in-demand Ki Sung-yeung.
The 23-year old South Korea international is on the radar of Russian club Rubin Kazan, who have already had an offer of £6million rejected by the Hoops, but Dutchman Petta suggests it might be a clever move to cash-in on the talented midfielder while they can.
"Ki is a very good player. But you have to look at how often he plays and who else Celtic have got there.
"He's not like Scott Brown. He's not the main man in the team. If a bid came in for Brown you could understand why the club might not want to sell. But Ki didn't cost a lot of money. He's very young still and he doesn't play week in, week out.
"Perhaps selling would be a good idea as it would allow Neil to strengthen in key areas he's weak in.
"Celtic are fine for midfielders. They have talked about getting a powerful striker in. They want to strengthen their defence.
"Perhaps cashing in at the right time will allow them to do that without really feeling the pain.""It's a nice position to be in. It must take a lot of control to say no to money like that. A lot of clubs would bite your hand off for it," Petta told SunSport.
