Former Brisbane Roar coach Fran Farina has confirmed he will apply for the vacant role at Adelaide United.
The head coaches job at Hindmarsh Stadium has been vacated by Aurelio Vidmar who will take over as Olyroos coach and Socceroos assistant, and the ex-Australia national team boss says he will pursue the job.
"It's a good opportunity with a great club," Farina said after confirming to The Advertiser he would apply for the Adelaide coaching job.
"There won't be a short list of candidates trying to get the job there, that's for sure.
"Obviously, Adelaide United has been dominant over the years. They're a good club and (coach Aurelio Vidmar) Viddie's a big loss to them," Farina added.
"They've got a great stadium and lots of good-hearted support from its fans who have been tremendous. The club has a lot of potential."
