Ex-Bremen, Schalke, Hamburg keeper Rost will not return to NYRB

New York Red Bulls head coach has given a flat 'No' to a potential return for veteran German goalkeeper Frank Rost.

The 38-year old former Werder Bremen, Schalke and Hamburg man joined the Red Bulls as their third Designated Player for the second part of the 2011 season but won't be back in 2012 after there was some speculation that he may return.

"No, no. He just had a contract for the end of the season," said Backe of Rost.

The Red Bulls coach also revealed that the club would be looking for an experience player to fill the void.

"(We) probably need some veteran. It's a very, very important position, so we're looking for an established one here,'' he added.

"We are talking with goalkeepers, in negotiations. We have a couple of names we are discussing for this season, so we will get one.''
