Former striker Owen Coyle believes Neil Lennon will not leave his job at Celtic anytime soon.
The Northern Irishman was the subject of torrid abuse from Aberdeen fans when he attended their League Cup semi-final with St Johnstone at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Lennon was pelted with coins and had cups of liquid hurled in his direction as he watched the Dons beat the Saints in the latest of a long line of mistreatment incidents with him at the forefront.
The experience has prompted Lennon to rethink his time in Scotland as a football manager but ex-Burnley, Bolton and Wigan Athletic boss Coyle is of the belief that he will stick around in Glasgow to continue guiding the Hoops in Europe's top competition.
"What will keep Neil Lennon in Scotland is that he wants to improve in the Champions League," Coyle told the Scotsman.
"Maybe he'll want to win the treble. With the strength Celtic have, he will have an opportunity to do that. But the only person who can answer that is Lenny.
"Just as he was as an outstanding player, Neil will want to manage at the highest level. But he's been a terrific Glasgow Celtic player, captain and manager and maybe he feels it doesn't get any better than Glasgow Celtic.
