Ex-Bolton midfielder Muamba ponders playing return

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba won't rule out a playing comeback.

Muamba retired from the game in August, having suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for the Trotters at White Hart Lane in March.

The 24-year-old has made over 150 Premier League appearances, and has said that he could resume his career if given the green light by heart specialists.

Muamba told BBC Radio Manchester: "Maybe in two years, if I go for a check-up and my heart rhythm comes back to normality, we'll see if anyone wants to take me on.

"If it comes back to normality, we'll see what the specialist says regarding me playing again. It all depends on my heart rhythm and how it heals.

"But at this present moment, I just have to take it easy and spend time with my family."
