Former Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur star Brad Friedel has been appointed as the manager of the United States Under-19 team.
A Premier League record holder of starting 310 consecutive matches, Friedel will now be using his experience to help the US youngster after being appointed as the team's new head coach.
44-year-old Friedel holds a UEFA 'A' coaching license, has assisted at USA national team camps and also has worked as an analyst in the US for FOX Sports.
US Soccer confirmed the news on Monday with Freidel taking the U19 reins while Omid Namazi has taken over at U18 level.
