Ex-Blackburn star Emerton to make Sydney FC debut this weekend
Official release from Sydney FC
Socceroo star Brett Emerton will make his Sydney FC playing debut in a Hyundai A-League Pre Season Friendly this Saturday afternoon against Perth Glory as part of the Sydney FC Community Fan Day at WIN Jubilee Stadium (Kogarah).
Emerton’s debut coincides with the annual Community Fan Day, which will take place outside WIN Jubilee from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
Activities at the Community Fan Day (which is free to enter) include face painters, a Petting zoo, jumping castle, fairy floss, Sydney FC merchandise, membership stall and information as well as a DJ.
The Sydney FC v Perth Glory match kicks off at 3pm with Sydney FC Members receiving free entry into the match.
Gates open for the match at 2pm and all Sydney FC members get in for free, including those who purchase a Membership at the Community Fan Day. Tickets for the game are only $15 for adults, $5 for juniors (16 and under) or $30 for a Family of four and can be pre-purchased by going to http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=SYDFCTRI11.
After the match Sydney FC fans can get up close and personal with all of the Sydney FC players, who will sign autographs and pose for photographs on the field of play.
“Saturday will be a very special day for Sydney FC with Brett’s (Emerton) first appearance in a Sydney FC shirt and our Community Fan Day,” said Sydney FC CEO Dirk Melton. “Since Brett joined Sydney FC we have had increased interest and we are hoping that will continue on Saturday.
“Fan Day is a great chance for us to embrace the Sydney FC Members and fans and then they in turn can embrace Brett, Terry McFlynn and the rest of the players as we move closer to the start of the A-League season.”
