Sydney FC marquee man Brett Emerton is delighted to have received a recall to the Australian national team.
The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder was left out of last month's World Cup qualifier with Oman in Sydney as it clashed with the opening weekend of the A-League season in which his Sky Blues were taking on Harry Kewell's Melbourne Victory in a glamour showdown.
But Emerton has been thrown straight back in to the international fold by Socceroos boss Holger Osieck for upcoming qualifiers against the Omanis in Muscat on November 11 and Thailand in Bangkok on the 15th and he is thrilled to again be involved even if he will miss some club matches.
"It's always an honour to play for the National Team and it's nice to be back in the squad," Emerton said.
"I have always been proud to represent my country and I look forward to the two World Cup Qualifiers.
"Saying that, I've really enjoyed the four games I've played at Sydney FC and was starting to feel we were getting into a rhythm but I'll be there on Sunday when we play the Gold Coast, miss the trip to Perth and be back in time for the game against the Central Coast."
