Skysports.com reports that Everton and Blackburn are considering a swoop for former Birmingham forward James McFadden. McFadden is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at St Andrews earlier this summer.
With funds reported to be tight at both Goodison Park and Ewood Park, the Scotland international has attracted interest from the North West duo.
McFadden enjoyed five seasons at Everton before he left for Birmingham in January 2008 and a return to Merseyside could be a big attraction for the player.
Meanwhile Rovers boss Steve Kean is thought to be a big admirer of his fellow Scot and he is actively looking for attacking reinforcements.
