Ex-Belgium coach Wilmots attacks Chelsea keeper Courtois: Leaker! No respect for homeland

Former Belgium coach Marc Wilmots has taken fresh aim at Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Wilmots is convinced Courtois was leaking team tactics and selection to the media during Euro2016.

He recalled Courtois' attack after their elimination by Wales when speaking to L'Equipe: "Thibaut said his words immediately afterwards. It was a moment of emotion. Frustration because you want to win. I have no problems with that. I understand that too.

"What I do have a problem with is that I do my tactical discussion at 6pm and that my basic eleven is already on social media at 6:15 pm. That means that a player has sold the set-up. And that's bad.

"French journalists said that they had proof that it was Courtois. That means that you have no respect for the homeland. I regret that I have to wait until an hour before the game for the opponent's team. Horrible. The opponent thus wins time. They can prepare everything. They know everything. And that was dramatic.

"That did not happen at the World Cup in Brazil. I did not waste my time to figure it all out. I already had problems with my health and was under medication."
