Newcastle Jets defender Dominik Ritter believes the recent signings of Alessandro Del Piero and Emile Heskey are great coups for the A-League.
The 23-year old Swiss centre-back admits he was unsure of Australian football when he joined the Jets in July but is now at ease after Juventus and Italy icon Del Piero signed with Sydney FC and ex-England and Liverpool striker Heskey committed to the Jets earlier this month.
"When I came here, I didn't know much about Australian football," Ritter said.
"Then a couple of weeks ago, Del Piero signed and everyone from Switzerland, my family and friends, all texted me saying how great it was.
"Now Emile Heskey is coming to play with me and my team. It's very, very exciting."
