New York Red Bulls ace Rafael Marquez says he can only look forward after his suspension last season for publicly criticizing a teammate.
Apart from the issue with now-Bolton Wanderers defender Tim Ream, the former Barcelona defender was also given time on the sidelines for throwing a ball at Landon Donovan just after the final whistle of a post-season clash.
Ahead of the 2012 MLS season, Marquez says it is time to get on with the job at hand and not look back at those silly incidents.
"I'm going to leave my work speak for myself. I shouldn't be too worried about how the fans will welcome me in the first game. It's up to me to show them how they should be welcoming me through my work and through my performances on the field.
"That goes both ways in the sense that I'm more ingrained here in the season and the team, so I need to perform on the field and also for them. As I learned, there's also learning for me as well.""What happened, happened," Marquez said. "It's time to turn the page.
