Rafael Marquez's MLS suspension is over allowing the Mexican star to resume playing for New York Red Bulls.
The former Barcelona defender was handed a three-match ban for petulantly throwing the ball at Landon Donovan at the end of the first leg of the 2011 Conference semi-finals against eventual champions LA Galaxy but will be free to play against Colorado Rapids at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday.
Marquez has been training hard during the off-season and admits he is now ready to give his all to the club after getting himself in hot water over the Donovan incident as well as publicly criticizing former teammate Tim Ream.
"There's no added pressure. I know what I need to do. I started my pre-season even earlier with Barcelona. I'm more committed and I'm more embedded into the club.
"I had conversations with Hans (Backe), with Erik (Soler). I'm more committed on the field and also certain matters off the field as well. It's a different approach, but it's not pressure, I know what I need to do.''"(I'm) very motivated. I feel now that I know exactly what I need to do, what my place is, and I know the league even better this time around. I really understand where I can fit it to really have an impact,'' said Marquez.
