Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has jumped to the defence of unsettled Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Laporta says critics should ease off on the former Manchester United star.

"Everyone is going over the top on him. We must understand he's under a lot of pressure and is human, because we all are affected by everything around us.

"He said something without knowing the impact it would make."
