Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta can understand Jordi Cruyff staying with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The son of Johan Cruyff and a former Barca striker, Jordi was offered the sporting director's post at the Blaugrana by president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
However, it was confirmed last week that Jordi would be manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv for the new season.
Laporta is convinced Jordi rejected Barca, explaining: "It's one thing to have good relationships on issues related to your father, but he's very smart and he knows that with the current directive it would not be right."
Laporta has made it no secret he is unhappy with the current board.
