Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart insists they do not need to offer Real Madrid a guard of honour.
Real star Cristiano Ronaldo made the demand after winning the Club World Cup final. Barca go to Madrid this Saturday.
But Gaspart told Radio Marca: "I think exactly the same as Guillermo Amor, Barça does not have to do the guard of honour if it has not participated in that competition.
"It's the first time I see such a difference in points in a derby, but there is still a lot of the LaLiga to play."
Gaspart also scoffed at claims Spain could be thrown out of the World Cup after comments from suspended RFEF president Angel Maria Villar.
"I believe that there is no possibility that Spain does not participate in the World Cup," he added.
