Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma has joined UAE Pro-League club Al Ahli on a free transfer.

The former Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona, Porto, Inter Milan and Chelsea man has arrived at the Dubai club after departing Turkish outfit Besiktas.

"In a big deal in the Arab world, Al Ahli football club has agreed a deal with Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma for a season and a half," read a statement on the club's official website.

Quaresma, who was released by Besiktas before Christmas, has played 35 times for Portugal but has never really lived up to the hype that landed him a €6million move from Sporting to Barca back in 2003.
