Former Barcelona midfielder Emmanuel Petit feels Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had a bias against their Dutch teammates.
Much is made of the influence the Dutch players had under Louis van Gaal during that particularly era, and Petit himself arrived in Spain alongside Marc Overmars from Arsenal.
"There were too many rivalries in the dressing room, Guardiola had disagreements with the Dutch players, it was too political," he explained.
"We were incredibly talented, but the spine of the team was too old and we had many problems away from the pitch.
"I played less than 30 matches for Barcelona and most were in defence, it was a season to forget both personally and for the club."
