New York City FC chief executive officer Ferran Soriano says he cannot wait to build a healthy rivalry with New York Red Bulls.
The MLS expansion franchise will begin competing in the top flight in 2015 and Sorriano, who doubles as Manchester City CEO, is eagerly anticipating being part of another stirring derby challenge.
"Actually, that there is another team is good," the former Barcelona vice-president said.
"There are plenty of cities in the world with rivalries that are enriching the experience. As an example, there is another club in Manchester, I can't remember the name right now," he joked.
"But Manchester is much smaller city. There is room for two clubs in New York."
