Former Barcelona sports chief Txiki Begiristain remains a contender for the new post at Tottenham.

The London Evening Standard says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen to revive the two-tier management structure he favoured during the early years of his reign, before he abandoned it when Juande Ramos and Damien Comolli were sacked in 2008 and replaced by Harry Redknapp.

Begiristain, the former Barcelona sporting director who left the Nou Camp in 2010, also has admirers at White Hart Lane.
