Former Barceloa chief Toni Freixa insists the board were in the dark over Daniel Alves' release clause.
Barca are reeling after it broke yesterday that Alves has agreed a deal with Juve.
The fullback is tied to Barca until 2017, but can join Juve for NOTHING courtesy of a release clause in his contract.
Freixa, who was on the board during negotiations with Alves over a new deal, took to Twitter to insist they were unaware of the option being inserted in the agreement.
"Stating that the contract of Alves had a clause that allows him to go free never crossed the board," he tweeted.
