Ex-Atletico Madrid chief reveals Man Utd target Aguero could go

Manchester United are on red alert after departing Atletico Madrid finance chief Fernando Garcia Abasolo admitted Sergio Aguero could go for less than £40 million. Abasolo has resigned as vice-president of finance at Atletico amid claims of massive debts racked up by the club and admitted they would "find it difficult" to reject any decent offer for El Kun.

"When you're down €20 million, it is very difficult for them to reject a bid of €50 million," said Abasolo.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson still has the £80 million raised from Cristiano Ronaldo's sale to Real Madrid burning a hole in his pocket and with Chelsea out of the picture due to their transfer ban, he knows January could be the best chance to land Aguero for a realistic price.
