Former Aston Villa and Manchester United striker Dion Dublin has emerged as a shock candidate to replace Jeremy Clarkson on popular British motor show Top Gear.
Clarkson was sacked from the show by the BBC after he was found guilty of lunching a 20-minute tirade as well as throwing a punch at producer Oisin Tymon.
Despite the departure of Clarkson, BBC has stated that they intend to continue the smash hit show and a host of names have been mentioned as potential replacements for the disgraced 54-year old.
The likes of Chris Evans, Jodie Kidd and Stephen Fry have been mentioned as favourites to replace Clarkson but now another shock candidate has emerged in the form of ex-Villa striker Dion Dublin.
Dublin has recently been named as the new host of daytime property programme 'Homes Under the Hammer' and his inclusion in the list of candidates may not be as surprising as it seems to some.
