Former Rangers manager Alex McLeish has expressed his interest in a surprise return to the club.
The Scottish giants are on the lookout for a new manager following Mark Warburton's shock exit on Friday.
McLeish, who managed the club from 2001 to 2006, has emerged as the frontrunner for the Ibrox job.
The former Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest boss admitted that it would be hard for him to turn down another opportunity to manage the Glasgow side.
"There is a lot of speculation, but at the moment there is nothing I can update you on," he told Sky Sports.
"I am a Rangers man, you have to keep that in consideration, and when you get asked to come to club like this, it is a hard decision to turn that down.
"If they come and they want to speak to me, I can only take it from there. I need to wait and see if Rangers want to talk to me first."
